Eddy Deniz: Adding Value
By James Florence, Diamond Certified Resource Reporter
NAPA—After finding success in commercial construction, Eddy Deniz took an opportunity to do what he loved on a smaller, more specialized scale. “I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Petaluma,” he says. “My father and I always did a lot of building and maintenance around the farm, and as a result, I gravitated toward construction. I went to college for construction management and then got a job with a large commercial firm. However, I had a passion to start my own business—something smaller and more akin to the environment I grew up in. I decided I should specialize in one aspect of the industry, so I chose windows and doors. In 2020, I got the opportunity to purchase American Window and Door Systems, which allowed me to branch out into the residential market.”
Today, Eddy says his favorite part of his job is adding value to his customers’ homes and lives. “I like seeing the finished product and the added value for the homeowner—not just property value, but aesthetic value and improved energy efficiency as well. I take a lot of pride in what my team and I are able to accomplish for our clients.”
A resident of Sebastopol, Eddy spends most of his time outside of work with his wife, Bethany, and their two children. “We enjoy going to the beach, attending the kids’ sporting events and vacationing at Lake Tahoe. I also have a large extended family, so we like getting together for barbecues and birthday parties.” Additionally, Eddy likes playing golf when the opportunity arises.
In regard to a professional philosophy, Eddy espouses the value of honesty. “We try to be upfront and honest with our clients,” he affirms. “I think it benefits everyone to be straightforward and tell the client what works and what doesn’t work. Whereas some companies try to quote the cheapest price or sell their customers something they don’t need, we just want to give them a good value for their money.”
When asked the first thing he’d do if he were to retire tomorrow, Eddy says he’d return to his farming roots. “I’d probably go back to the farm lifestyle—get some animals, plant some crops and spend my days working the land. I also have a couple of vehicles on my property that I’ve been meaning to fix up, so I’d finally be able to get those projects finished.”
