Ana Maria Robles: A Beautified Career
By James Florence, Diamond Certified Resource Reporter
HAYWARD — For Ana Maria Robles, a career in the skin care field began with an early opportunity. “When I was in junior high, I received a scholarship to attend a beauty school during the summer,” she recounts. “I continued to pursue that through high school and earned my cosmetology license at age 18. At that point, I wasn’t interested in doing hair or makeup, so I decided to attend college to become a surgical technologist. Through that, I got a job assisting a plastic surgeon. Many of his surgical patients were interested in skin care, so he suggested that I attend esthetician school so I could handle that aspect of his business. So, I obtained my esthetician license to practice clinical correction skin care, and I’ve been doing it ever since.”
Today, as president and founder of Bella Medical Skin Care, Inc., Ana Maria says her favorite part of her job is achieving successful results for her clients. “I provide hands-on skin care services, so it’s very rewarding when a client sees the results and is happy with them. I also enjoy the diversity of working with all different skin types and conditions.”
A resident of Oakland, Ana Maria spends her time outside of work on a variety of pastimes. “I try to get away at least once a month to go camping or traveling,” she details. “I also enjoy watching sports like soccer and basketball—I’m a big Warriors fan—as well as cooking and reading.”
Regarding a professional philosophy, Ana Maria says her main goal is to provide for her clients’ needs. “I always strive to deliver whatever my clients are seeking. I have a sense for beautification, and I enjoy both practicing and seeing the results my clients get from professional skin care.”
When asked what her life would look like if she were to retire tomorrow, Ana Maria says she’d spend more time doing the things she loves. “I would go camping and travel more often. I would also continue to be involved in the skin care field, but on a more volunteer and mentorship basis. Previously, I volunteered on medical missions to help those in other parts of the world, and that was very rewarding, so I would like to resume that type of work.”
